Good Grief Camp Mentors
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) offers compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. Since 1994, TAPS has provided comfort and hope 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones.
TAPS hosts and participates in events across the country to provide support to all who are grieving the loss of a loved one who has died while in military service. Through our national and regional seminars and camps, retreats, special presentations and fundraising events, TAPS is able to provide hope and healing.
TAPS Good Grief Camp provides a safe and supportive atmosphere for children and youth as they discover new coping strategies, establish and strengthen support systems, and discover that they can have fun without forgetting their loved ones. Each child receives a one-on-one mentor for the entire seminar.
This RoomFunding Project will fund the training of 350 Good Grief Camp volunteers to be one-on-one mentors with children that attend the Good Grief Camp.
